Can I switch home care agencies whenever I want?
Yes. You have the right to choose your home care provider at any time. You don’t have to stay with an agency you’re unhappy with — and you don’t have to wait for open enrollment to change your caregiver or agency.
Do I have to tell my current agency first?
No. Many families find that uncomfortable. Just reach out to us and we’ll guide the process — you’re always in control of the timing.
Does switching cost anything?
No. For Medicaid-eligible families on PathWays for Aging, there’s no cost to transfer. Our team handles the paperwork at no charge.
Will there be a gap in my loved one’s care?
No. We coordinate the transfer with your PathWays health plan so your authorized hours and coverage continue without interruption — a smooth handoff with no missed days.
Will I keep the same number of hours?
Yes. Your authorized hours are set by your health plan’s care plan, not the agency. When you transfer, those authorized hours come with you.
Can I transfer and become the paid family caregiver?
